Pictures from Jayden and Claire’s Baptism

December 22nd, 2007

I’ve been having some technical issues with my internet connection that has kept me from uploading many photos, but I think I’ve got it working consistently now. So tonight, I posted 49 photos from Jayden and Claire’s joint baptism in Eugene right after Thanksgiving.

Here I go Again!

November 27th, 2007

The Holidays are killing me!!!!!  I am doing really well on WWatchers but Thanksgiving killed me.  But now I’m re-focussed because we are going to AZ for Christmas and I want to look GOOD!  I made 2 goals for myself this week, 1- to work out 4 days this week, and 2- to re-start the Cardio Sculpt class at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Today was my first day in class and you would have thought I was going to the first day of school.  I was so nervous and tried to time my arrival just right, and then stratigically placed myself in the far back of the room so no one would see my cheeks jiggle.  All that build up was pure nonsense.  Once I got there I remembered the instructor and few of her moves.  I still found myself fumbling a few times.  The work out was great and I hope to continue the class for a long time.  There is nothing like having loud dance music to work out to.  Anyways, things are looking good in my long journey to loosing weight.  I have a long way to go!   Keep up the good hard work!

Opps. this was meant for FitSisters.  Help Josh, before Joe and Sid read it!

Lucy’s Jewelry

November 23rd, 2007

Renee and the girls broke out some of Grandma Lucy’s jewelry, along with Renee’s prom dress and wedding dress, and Rachel and Sara took pictures with my camera. Here are some of the results (all of the photos are available in my “Thanksgiving 2007″ photoset on Flickr, where you can get full size versions).

Chuck tells the “Coon Hunting with George” Story

November 22nd, 2007

Chuck got out Uncle George’s coon dog horn last night, and told the story of going hunting with his brother George and his six “famous” coon dogs. I whipped out my audio recorder, captured it, and edited out the coughs to post it here for your listening pleasure.

BORING

October 16th, 2007

Hello folks!  Is anyone out there?  I’m hoping to motivate my family to post cause things are getting boring on this site!

Well FYI, Elyse and Payge are playing eachother this Wednesday.  They are on different volleyball teams and Wednesday they face off for the second time.  The first time was so fun.  That night at dinner, I lectured the girls about being poor-sports and being too competitive.  They promised me that they wouldn’t be rude to eachother.  So when we got to the game, James continually encouraged them to trash talk eachother.  At one point they were directly face to face and they didn’t trash talk!  In fact, they were completely embarrassed by their Dad’s outbursts.  Go GIRLS!  BUMP SET SPIKE!!!

Oh, and Jayden lost a tooth last week and the tooth fairy didn’t…………………………………………………………..

Um Yeah, Brytlin just fell down the stairs.  It freaked all of us out!  She managed to crawl away with only a big goose egg on her head.  All her bones are intact and there is no blood.  Cool.

Anyway, Jayden, the tooth fairy didn’t come on Sunday and he managed to think up a great reason for that.   He said quite simply, “the tooth fairy doesn’t work on Sunday”.  Well I better get back to the kids.  I guess I am the responible adult here since the other one sleeps all the time.

Love ya all

Things I Learned

October 1st, 2007

Ok, as most of you know, I was able to attend TimeOut for Women in AZ with the Cuthbertson girls.  It was so good that I want to share a few things that I learned.  These really don’t pertain to the men, but tough.  Merrilee Boyack, the author of “Wifehood 101″, gave these 5 tips to being a better wife:

#1~Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods But Him-ofcourse meaning no other intimate partners.  Your husband should be your best friend, someone you can spill your guts to.  She used the words “emotional allegence” as a way to describe the closness needed in a marriage.

#2~Do Not Take His Name in Vain-this means no husband bashing.  Mom, we know how you hate bashing.  Don’t ever violate the trust between a husband and wife. She quoted Pres. Faust saying that doing this “demeans masculinity”.

#3~Fan The Flame-this was my personal favorite.  I am a romantic at heart.  She says that women should attempt to look good for him, talk with him not at him, have fun, compliment him, and have a Date Night.  She said that your marraige should have priority over your children.

#4~Problem Ownership-this means that if there is a problem in a marriage, take responsibility to fix your part.  And don’t try to fix all of his problems.

#5-Act As If-she says “treat him as if he has that attribute and over time he will act as if he has it and it will change him”.  If you want your husband to be a stronger spiritual leader in the home, act as if he already is, and allow him to become that.

This woman has the amazing talent of making the whole audience laugh at one moment and taking her message very seriously after that.  I loved her humor and how she emphasized how important it is to improve and hold sacred our marriage.  At one point she encouraged us to have all the children in bed by 9 p.m.-she says the purpose of bedtime is so husbands and wives can be husbands and wives again.  She also said that on date nights, only 20% of your conversation should be about your kids and the rest about the two of you.  Anywho, I loved her message and thought I would share it with you.  Take from it what you want and enjoy!

It’s About Stinking TIME!

September 17th, 2007

Yes, the Cuthbertson Family is still alive.  There is a slight heart beat, but we are alive!  I have been so disconnected from this site for so long and I am dying to get back on!  Just beware, I love to post totally random stuff.  Our life is full of silly stuff and I intend on letting you know about all of them!  Starting with back to school!  Whew-Ann, I have no idea how you do this.  I know you are laughing because I haven’t even scratched the surface of Busy.  But I am on my feet all day long, except when I am driving the kids around town.  Elyse and Payge signed up for Volleyball-Bump-Set-Spike, and it has been so fun teaching them and hearing them complain about how sore their thighs are.  I miss those days.  But I’m gonna challenge all my siblings and their spouses to a serious volleyball match in 4 months when I am in top condition and 40 pounds lighter.  Yes, Weight Watchers has been working so great for me!  I am down 25.6 pounds since I stoped nursing and joined on mother’s day.  Watch out Wave Pool, Rebecca’s coming with her 2 piece and belly-button peircing!  Anywho, I’m taking off to visit the AZ Cuthbertson Family this weekend, so keep an eye out for my husband and kids.  Brytlin is coming so don’t worry about her.

We love you all!
